Hello from Northeast Ohio :)

Good Afternoon ! :)
Idk if anyone knows when a potential roo will begin to practice crowing...but mine are 2 weeks ( or so) old and I have a screecher.

Holy Moses , it sounds like it's getting picked on. I peek in the box and it's roosting on a branch and the others are just doing their own thing such as eating or just nestled down. It's a drama King/ Queen for sure. LOL. ;)

I'm hoping this particular variety of chicken will turn out to be docile, but they seem flighty.

I'm going to peruse the forums now.
Everyone take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend!! ;)

P.S. The comb on the questionable roo is longer than the other two .... Its wings also
Have more stripes than the other two. Only time will tell. Cross your fingers this is going to be a hen !

Anyone recognize what type of breed would have feathers like this?

Potential roos can start to crow or attempt to crow at 2 weeks. So it sounds like you do have a roo in the bunch! They will sounds a little rough for a while til they get the crowing right. AND drive you crazy!

I do not know what breed that might be. You might want to post this pic in the What Breed section here on BYC for an ID....
