@Dstu, I don't know what characteristics that you are looking for, but I have Orpingtons, Australorps, Black Stars, Easter Eggers, New Hampshire and Rhode Island Reds, plus some barnyard mixes that I have mixed.
I have really no coop plans, but one of my coops looks like a church and another coop that is built out of pallets, which used to be a place that I stored hay in.

Thanks for the help, my wife likes the sapphire gem breed, I'm mostly looking for a hearty breed that is a good egg layer and won't escape from the back yard
