Hi BYC Readers,

I finally got around to joining this site. My daughter has 6 chickens and we have used this site to help us answer many of our questions. She loves Belgian Bearded d'Anvers and this year she hatched 4. Turns out they're all roosters, what are the odds

We sold one of our cockerels and still have three to go. We aren't allowed roosters in our area. So glad to join this community.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Yes, happens all the time! The odds are pretty good that Roos happen! You might stop by your state thread and chat with your chicken neighbors to see if anyone nearby might take one or more of them....https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/25/california-northern

And after you have 20 posts, you can place an ad in our Buy Sell and Trade section too....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing

Good luck finding them nice homes and I hope you can establish a nice flock soon!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Belgian Bearded d'Anvers are such cute bantams, and raising chickens is a great experience for children. Sorry you ended up with so many roosters. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Tell your daughter I said, "Good luck with her flock."

Glad you joined us! Hopefully the next hatch will be all hens? Well, you've beaten the odds once already! lol

Into each chickeners life some roosters must fall .-

Seems like there has been a major epidemic of roosters being born. I've read the hen controls the sex - so why are so many hens sabotaging their owners? No meal worms for them.
