Hello from Northern Minnesota

Hi! Welcome to backyard chickens!
I assume you have electric fencing to protect your animals from bears?
No barn... does that mean no shelter? It gets mighty cold in Northern Minnesota...
Hello - bears have not been an issue, we can hear coyotes but we have a Great Pyrenees & working on getting a donkey to help with that, so it doesn't become an issue :) We don't have a "barn" as I grew up with where all the animals lived happily together. What we have is some different sheds that we have been in the process of turning into animal housing & kinda doing as we go on layout of where to incorporate animals along with our tow business/junkyard. We did get a real nice metal shed this summer we converted into a chicken coop - that is going to be a fun project to turn from recycling shed to chicken palace. We also bought a couple car ports we are using for our cows & horses - so even though my dream is a nice big barn, someday, we are using what we can to keep everyone safe & warm in the meantime....

Wow! That's awesome. No goats🥺🤣🤣🤣
Hello - nope, no goats - YET. No worries, I'm working on that. Found someone who has pygmy goats & I already spoke for a couple of next springs babies. Hubby isn't real excited about goats because we have a junkyard & he does automotive repair & has numerous projects sitting around - and goats climb....so maybe you can share some advice with me on incorporating the two :)

Yay! 🤔 I had a miniature goat and he never jumped on things like that. I also have a boer goat right now and she's never tried to jump on the cars or anything. Maybe pygmy goats are different but I don't know.

Yay! Well, a vet told me that if you do this before letting them play they don't jump on things
I'm not really sure if it's safe though 🤔 I had a miniature goat and he never jumped on things like that. I also have a boer goat right now and she's never tried to jump on the cars or anything. Maybe pygmy goats are different but I don't know.
IMO, If a person needs to do that to an animal, they have no business having them!
