Hello from Upstate NY!
Just signed up, but have been lurking for the past year or so! Since the first day I brought my chicks home I have used these forums for almost EVERYTHING. So, I finally decided to join this wonderful community!
Background:
Came home with 6 “sex-linked” chicks last April 2018. First time even being remotely close to a chicken, but recently bought a large horse farm in NY that already had a coop on it, so I figured why not!? Fell in love immediately! After a couple weeks I realized that we really got 5 hens and a surprise rooster! Everyday has been a new learning experience with these guys! My main girl, Shirley, went broody over Memorial Day weekend so now we have 3 little chicks to add to the mix!
Totally jumped into this chicken keeping feet first, but have been loving every minute of it!
