I'm Amanda and last week, we bought 6 red sex link chicks. Don't know what got into us, but we decided, yes! Let's get some chickens. We are building a coop and run for them, but they currently live in an old dog crate surrounded by a cardboard shell in the basement. The dog is going absolutely crazy, and cries a lot, just hearing them, and wants to be right there when we are talking/playing/feeding/watering/watching the chicks. We put a chick on her head and another on her back. She ignored them, but wanted to sniff the ones still in the crate.
Anyway, we are in love with them, and love watching our girls. They are about 10 days old and are just starting to get the darker feathers. A couple of them have starting growing out the wings feathers and flap all over the place. They are just getting loud enough to hear them upstairs. They are fun! Hope it continues to feel this way.
