My wife and myself just got into chickens, we purchased a few hens and a pair of cockerels from Mr Fitzgerald from Stratford. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Mr Fitzgerald, and appreciate him taking the time to help us out, with all our greenhorn questions. I plan on purchasing a few better quality hens in the near future, so breeding some show stock will be a possibility. I really like the partridges, and my wife likes the splashes.

Just to let you know, we are having a Swap in Choctaw, Oklahoma at the KOA. It's the annual POOPS get together. Would love to see you there. Do you have any pics of your Silkies.

We love Silkie pics. I hear John Fiztgerald has some nice Silkies, but I haven't personally seen any of them.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes

. I will get some pics of our silkies maybe this afternoon when my wife gets home. She has these hens : 2 blacks NB and 1 grey NB (pet quality), 3 splash hens Bearded (1 has a crooked tail) the other two are pretty good quality I believe, and 1 dark blue Bearded rooster. The splashes and blue cockerel came from Mr Fitzgerald. She also has a Black Frizzled Bantam Cochin rooster that we were told is show quality, he was entered in the OKC state fair last year. I have 3 Bearded blue partridge hens, and 1 bearded blue partridge cockerel (Mr Fitzgeralds as well), and I also have 1 young black NB hen. All silkies except the Frizzled Cochin Rooster. I am wanting to pick up 2-3 more partridge hens, blue and/or black. I am as much a green horn as a person can get with chickens, I was raised with hounds and horses myself, and have only recently discovered how fun chickens can be.
