Hi all!
I finally convinced my husband that backyard chickens would be a good thing
I had chickens and ducks when I was a kid, but haven't had any in years. My husband is a city boy from Chicago and until last night, when we got our 4 red star hens, he'd never touched a chicken that wasn't frozen.
He's a kind hearted soul, so when they stop laying, I'll have to "re-home" them to someone who would like to have some soup
My mother sure gets a kick out of that!
Anyway, this site has been very helpful in both reassuring my husband that we can do this AND giving me a refresher course in chickens!
