I am new to this site and the "chicken adventure". I have 2 Araucana mixed chickens and 3 white leghorns. I also have 9 Cayuga ducks. I have received all of these at 1 month old and older so I haven't hatched any yet. I am fixing to set some barnevelder eggs I got shipped to me. I'm going to try the dry incubation method and I'm hoping to get a good hatch rate! Living in Oklahoma the humidity here is high at the moment. Anyways, I'm looking forward to learning lots from you all and reading all the threads I can. Thank you so much for having this site available and all the knowledge!

You should do well with a dry hatch being how humid it is out there now. Here is a nice article from our learning center on dry incubation methods....https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/how-to-incubate-hatch-eggs-using-the-dry-incubation-method

Love your avatar!! :-)

Good luck with the hatches and welcome to our flock!

Thank you for the links! My avatar is actually my Chinese Crested dog Einstein. Everyone calls him ugly but I love him and that's all that matters lol! I'm off to go do some reading now! Gotta set those eggs tonight and I want a good hatch! My incubator has been running 3 days so I can get the temp right. Thanks again everyone!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the hatch!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but you can pick the brains of our duck experts at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your hatch.

I think your Chinese crested is beautiful - some have done very well at Westminster over the past few years and I was cheering for them. Is he good around the chickens?

Sending you good hatching vibes
