hello, i'm Becca
I'm from a farm north of omaha, not born into farming, my parents are city folk and i was too, until my first horse at age 10 and it snowballed from there. my parents purchased the land i live on about 5 years ago and i have a small house attached to a barn on 10 acres.
i am not new to chickens, but i am always looking to learn!!
right now i have 4 chickens, all hatchery birds. i did have more, but had a red-tailed hawk problem and currently my birds are free-range with no coop, just the barn to roost in. my bf and i plan on purchasing a coop and building a run. my birds are a mix, lol, i have a buff orpington hen, easter egger hen, california white hen and a BBR game rooster that i got from the local humane society. i also have 8 blue swedish ducks, 4 hens and 4 drakes.
my other hobbies are my son (2.5), my job (veterinary technician) and my other farm animals: horses and nubian goats. i foxhunt and trail ride. i have 5 horses. i show my nubians at ADGA shows all over the midwest and i have 11 goats currently, with 7 of those being bred does that will start kidding in jan.
can't wait to meet some great people who loves animals, "farming" and we can chat about our pets!!
