Hi All, I've been to the site a number of times over the past year and have finally decided to join. My husband and I just picked up 6 new BBS Orpington chicks Tuesday (see profile pic). We have another two that are 4 weeks.
This is our first time keeping chickens together, however we were both around a lot of birds and other animals growing up as both are dads raised animals included chickens. My dad always had chickens, ducks and geese, the hubbys dad was a serious breeder of a variety of birds including tropical, pheasants, silkies etc.
I'm finding it very exciting to have lots of little chirping birds in the house and look foward to seeing how they grow out. I didn't have the opportunity to see the parents and I'm not sure what lines they are from. I felt lucky just finding some BBS in Ontario after looking for a year.
