Hello! We are brand new to chickens, and my husband has finally gotten into the idea of having a small backyard flock. We live in a small town with a large backyard and are allowed up to 8 here. A good friend of mine has raised chickens for years and currently has a ton of eggs in her incubator. She has a mix of cochins, silkies, orpingtons, americanas I believe. We will be getting 10 chicks from her in about 10 days in the hopes that 5 or 6 are pullets.

I'm loving all the info here as I dive into my favourite part of a new hobby-researching! I have 5 kids and (when we aren't on lockdown!) 5 daycare toddlers so I'm excited to raise chickens from chicks so they can be handled and hopefully kid-friendly.
