I'm new to BYC but have been a farm girl all my life. We had chickens a few years ago but they were food for the predators; hawks, owls, coons, skunks, dogs & themselves but not before they produced alot of eggs for us. I have decided to give chickens a try again but I am going to try different strategic plans to see how things work out for us.

We currently have 19 baby chicks - 10 golden sex-links, 9 Amerucanas.
And 5 ducks, the local coop here had them all together and I can only figure that they lost the markings on their heads due to 'playing in the water' of their cage, we have one that will be white(his was the only mark that was there-green on top of his bill) 2 that are kind of grayish, 1 that has alot of black on him and the other one is still yellowish and is getting some black on him. I'm not sure of their sex since it was a straight run batch. It will be interesting to see what they turn out to be when their feathers come in.

I am really excited about this community, I have already read alot of interesting things on here, a few I will try to implement into our plans for our roost, house and run for our feathered family.
