Hello from Oregon!

Hi! We are a couple from Oregon who has just started our chicken flock. We are so excited to begin! We just built our coop from the ground up last month and started what we thought would be a small flock. We however, I admit, have become a little obsessed and caught chicken fever. We now have a flock of 1 Americana and 1 Legorn laying hen, 7 "mutt chickens" as we call them, 2 bantys, and a white silkie rooster in our coop. We also are raising 7 rhode island red, 2 black silkies, 2 black sex-links and a partrdige cochin silkie mix in a brooder box on our porch. We are looking forward to getting all the yummy fresh eggs we can when our little flock is all grown up!

Hello and welcome, I am new to this site too. I have 4 Barred Rocks, 4 RIR's, and 4 Buff Orpingtons. Mine are still in the laundry room, they are only 4 weeks old and my coop is still being framed. How old is your flock? You will love this site, the members are so useful and friendly. Good luck to you.

Hey! welcome fellow Oregonian! We are just starting (well havent even built the coop or picked up the chicks... but hoping this week will be it.
We are doing a MUCH smaller operation than you guys... only 3 hens are allowed within the Woodburn City limits.
