Hey everyone! I have been a member for a few weeks now, but just getting around to posting an intro.
We had lots of chickens and some guineas when I was a kid. But as an adult I have had chickens and quail since last fall. The first hens are just starting to lay!
We have now up to 33 chickens, including 9 Cornish X for butchering. And down to 5 quail, probably get more soon.
We also have a couple ringneck pheasant chicks with the youngest batch of chicks. Hopefully they grow up thinking they are chickens, I want to get some hybrids.
Besides the meat birds, we have an Araucana, Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, one Cornish X hen on a strict diet, Easter Eggers, Light Brahmas, Olive Eggers, Red Sex Links, Rhode Island Reds, Silkies, and Wyandottes.
Then there is our Nigerian Dwarf milk goat and her 3 month old babies who are half Nubian (so cute!). Finally, we also have a Mini Pig.
I am interested in getting started with exotic pheasants, red and grey jungle fowl, and rheas in the next couple years. I have found a source for the pheasants, but would like help finding jungle fowl and rhea breeders in the western states.
