Hello all,

I'm a newbie living outside Portland, OR, with 6 ducks, 3 geese, and 4 chickens. The chickens are new: They'll be a year old next month, and I don't think I'll ever get over how much fun they are!

I've lots of questions about the geese (such a troublesome lot!), but I try to keep it secret that the chickens are my favorite. I look forward to chatting with everyone!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new! My chickens will be a year old in May.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Four hens.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Two Black Australorps, a New Hampshire Red, and a Leghorn (I think -- she's white, but she isn't as elongated and slender as some of the pictures I've seen of Leghorns online).

Google!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, knitting, gardening, exploring.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I own a house on a couple of acres. My twin sister lives with me, and between us we have a mess of cats, 3 dogs, and the above-mentioned birds.
