You aren't new to me, but I'm new to you!
I've been reading reading.....and reading all over the site for over 2 months and finally signed up to be a member.
My husband and I have an Adult Foster Home. We care for up to 5 seniors, who live with us. Its like an assisted living, but in a small home environment. We also have 3 boys (13, 10, 6).
We are jumping into this chicken fun for the first time! At the beginning of April, we bought 8 chicks from our local feed store. We went back about a week later and bought 6 more. We lost one of the younger ones, but the rest are doing great.
I'm getting close to needing help with sexing them, so I'll be posting pics soon. I took my boys with me to get the chicks so we have a huge mix of breeds...EEs, RIR, BO, SLW, and more!
This has been so much fun for our whole house so far! We have our brooder set up in the living room (which they are quickly outgrowing), so everyone gets to check in on them everyday. My husband is making quick progress on that coop, so our residents have had their eyes glued to the windows to make sure he's doing it all correctly!
Thank you for all of info so far...
