Our family has 5 Rhode Island Reds and 7 Golden sexlinks (I guess?). This is our first experience raising chickens and it has been interesting lol. Our reds are 17 weeks and we just got our first egg this evening! Super exciting! Our Goldens are about 12 weeks, we have a while to go for eggs from them. We had also raised 6 cornish cross and butchered those. I was not fond of raising those at all, mostly because it was just messed up seeing how hard it was for them to walk once they got of size. Anyway, I love this site, it has help us tremendously in raising our flock! I figured I should join up instead of being just a lurker lol.
