Hello from Oregon!

Hello All,
I grew up on a farm in the Midwest and about 4 years ago I moved out to Oregon. Last year, I bought a nice little three acre ranch and have built myself a 25 chicken coop. I had two sexlinks, a cochin, and a silkie yesterday but unfortunately a predator got in my coop and I am down to the cochin and one sexlink. A friend of mine is sending me some fertile silkie eggs to put under the broody cochin. I am really excited to be a part of this chicken community and look forward to learning more about different breeds.

I will definitely look into the predator page. I'm pretty sure a raccoon was the culprit.

Thanks for letting me know. My coop is now predator proof and I will not be letting the girls free range for awhile.
