Hello, my husband and I recently purchased 5 little chicks in August: Ginger, Charlie, Quin, Chickadee and Matilda. They are Rhode Island Reds and Black Australorps. We built them a coop in our backyard and they are able to run around our fenced in lawn. We enjoy sitting on our porch swing and watching them. We also have a pig, 2 goats, 4 sheep, 3 cows, a miniature horse, 7 rabbits, a dog and 4 cats. And all of our animals are rescues!
 
Sounds like you have a fun little hobby farm going for yourselves. It is fun sitting and watching chickens. I could do it for hours. I love my chickens so much. We have about and they are all different breeds. Its addicting. I think is so cool that all your animals are rescues. Welcome to the BYC forum and good luck in finding all that you seek. Chickens are probably the most entertaining critters ever.

Your "farmette" (as my grandpa would call it) sounds very nice. We have 1 cow, and her steer calf, and this past summer my brother raised a couple pigs.

from North MS. Sounds like you have a really nice farm, I want more animals one day, right now just chickens and dogs! My husband and I do the same, we sit on our porch while we let them run around the yard and just watch and laugh, it's actually relacing to me, lol. Glad you joined!
