Thought I would pop in here and say "HI" to the forum before I get distracted on the many threads I look forward to reading

I am very new and can't wait to learn more information on the different types of chickens/their behavior along with the best way/place to acquire a small flock, their needed care, coop setups/maintenance requirements, etc. I am very excited about the research I'll be doing before bringing any home, so it'll still be a few months at the very least before having any to call my own. So I'll be admiring everyone's birds in the meantime!

Thank you, I will check it out.

No breeds, yet. I have a list of what I want in my hens. . . just a matter of finding something close to those requirements and I am hoping this forum can help to make it easier. I am still overwhelmed going through the many breeds and varieties

You might also want to do some reading in our learning center here on BYC. Lots of good reads there on building the coop, raising the babies, keeping the flock healthy and other goodies that may help you...
