Hi everyone, I'm Lindsey. Me and my boyfriend live in Oley, Pa. with our 5 kids (4 are mine from a previous marriage and 1 together). We bought our first home back in October and are trying to work on creating our own little homestead. We've got 2.6 acres, most of which was neglected and needs major clear cutting/removing dead trees, etc.
Anyways, I grew up on an 8 acre farm and we raised chickens, pheasants, guineas, pigs, horses, goats, etc... I recently got my first chickens since I a kid so I feel like I have to re learn everything. I have 2 gold sexlinks and 2 RIR that are 3 weeks old and 2 Ameracaunas and 2 pearl Guineas that are a week old. They're currently living in my upstairs bathroom (that was never really used before the chickens took over) while we build them a coop.
I'm already so hooked on my girls. The 2 RIR's jump right onto my arm when I go in the room. I've had them outside with me and they just follow me around like little ducklings.
I'm excited to have found this forum. Looking forward to lots of reading and learning.
