I am Angels Eggs. I come to the site to get answers, but I decided to join. Love reading about others with their eggs and chickens. I am a newbie. Got my chick's one day old from a hatchery and really have had no problems. They started to lay at 19 weeks all Rhode Island reds. 13 pullet and two roosters. I don't think all the hens are laying yet the most I have got in one day is 7. This morning there were 5. I really enjoy them, when I go outside they all come running to the fence. I don't have a "run" There is a good size coop with a fenced in area that is about 25foot by 30foot. I am able to move it to different areas of our property. Here in winter it is close to the pole barn for electricity.

Glad to hear your introduction to chicken keeping has been problem free. I've had a few RIR's in the past and really enjoyed them. The days are slowly getting longer so your egg count should increase before long.

If you'd like to chat with other members in IN, just do a search for the Indiana state thread and you'll find them.

Thanks for joining us!

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
