Hello from Plant City

Hi, I will be returning home soon from what is hopefully my last deployment. My goal is to turn my backyard into a small homestead. So of course this will include some poultry, with chickens to start. One thing that seems to be hard to find are local ordinances. I'm familure with the county rules, but are the City of Plant City any different? If anyone can provide clarification that would be great. I'm also interested in ducks, but I can't find any information on them.

Glad to meet you, Dale, and thank you for your service. How exciting to be planning a homestead! Do you mean Plant City FL or Plant City R.I.? In either case the simple thing would be to contact the city hall and ask. We do have a list of ordinances and laws, but it's not complete. You are very wise to check the laws before planning the animals!

Try using the search tool at the top of the page for information on ducks, but be somewhat specific. For instance, simply searching ‘ducks’ brings up lots of vague posts, but a search for ‘duck breeds’ duck care 101, raising ducks…narrows the results.
I don’t have ducks so the most I know is that they float and quack but lots of ppl on BYC will help you…just ask in the forums.
