Hello Everyone,

My name is Angela. I've been snooping around for some time, trying to get myself acquainted with proper Back Yard etiquette. I finally build up enough courage to introduce myself.
I'm very new to back yard homesteading, and am so glad I've found you all,

. I've found the site extremely helpful, but still have many questions. So thank you in advance for any and all questions I may flood the threads with.

On March 30th I purchased 5 Buff Orpington pullets. They have been such a joy to have, and have been a great learning experience for me and my children. I know we still have some time before we see our fist egg. But we still can't wait.

I look forward to chatting and learning from you all!!!

Welcome to BYC, Angela. Glad you decided to join our flock. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children and Buff Orpingtons are a great breed for children. I raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are beautiful, hardy, friendly and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and good layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your BOs.

Buff orps are very popular breed and rightly so. They are beautiful and mild mannered.
