Hello, Mel, and welcome to BYC!
Glad you joined.
Congratulations on the fixer upper! I flipped houses for 5 years (5 in 5) and my current house is still underway. I'm staying in this one!
Ironic, I have a degree in Environmental Chemistry. Wanted to work more for the environment that the corporation. Liked making peoples homes a whole lot more than working in the Rat Race!

As long as they get their exercise they're terrific. We're long distance hikers so we're no stranger to 14 mile days. I think our pup got more exercise when we lived in an apartment because I was so worried he didn't have enough stimulation. Now he sunbathes, watches our house progress, and goes on the typical weekend hike. There's a learning curve to working dogs but they're the most loyal, sweetest, and bravest pups
Yesterday I had the chicks outside to try and acclimate them to the outdoors before they make the move in a few weeks and accidentally tipped their pen over. You can imagine what ten chicks running in every direction was like... so scary! Arlo rounded them right up and helped me put them back safely in their pen. He'll be a great flock protector!
