I had talked about getting chickens for a few years but held off until recently. My niece took home a chick (Silver laced Polish) from work as it was getting picked on due to it having a weak leg. Fast forward a few weeks and the chick is fully rehabilitated and strong/healthy (with an attitude as well... lol I added a pic if her). So it was time to get or build a coop as she would have to moved outdoors in a few more weeks. Since I didn't really have alot of time to build one, we bought one from a wonderful couple just over the line in CT. Upon arrival, they offered us three one year old laying hens (the types, I am unsure of...they told us, but I don't recall. I attached pics of them, if anyone wants to Id them - I'd appreciate it.). After moving the coop and hens to our yard, they are doing great and we enjoy interacting with them. I hope to learn a lot from the forums and appreciate any/all information you would like to share. Thanks for your time.
