Hello from Round Rock, TX

Thanks for the welcome! Going to buy from James Marie Farms as I have seen several good reviews and 1 bad. They are in Louisiana so close to Texas. Been all over the Quail Forum and the learning center. This maybe the wrong place to ask this however. My homemade incubator is holding between 98-100 so I think that is good. Humidity was at 16% bad. I added a small plastic container of water now up to 26% still bad. I added the water bowl around 4:15 and it is 7:45 so should I wait till morning and check it or is there a way to up the humidity if it is the same tomorrow. Newbie here thanks for your help.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sponges are a good way to increase humidity / surface area of water. Humidity will take awhile to get back up once you have opened the incubator, especially if the water was cool.

Thanks for the welcomes. Wore out the quail thread learning a lot of stuff. I added a sponge to my water yesterday around 7:30 pm and this morning Humidity was only 38. My home made incubator has 2 40w bulbs so I switched the one by the water to a 60w bulb hoping more heat more evaporation. Humidity up to 40 Temp is holding between 99 and 100.
