Hello From Rural Arkansas!

When my bourbon boys were young a hawk was on a sure path to my pasture, the four boys took flight to intercept the hawk. Red tails look huge because of their massive wing span, but they're only about 3 1/2 pounds. Seeing four turkeys in flight at about 12 pounds each was amazing. And the last owl who came for dinner became dinner.

I don't know if all turkeys will do that, as my turkey friends had never seen or heard that before. But I like to put 5 or so week old chicks with my day old poults to mentor them and keep them out of trouble.

That's really amazing. I guess you have some interesting turkeys there. I knew wild turkey can be really territorial, but never heard about domesticated attacking birds of prey. I'm going to do some research now.
