Hello All -
I am an urban/backyard chicken wannabe, doing my part in writing city council members to get chicken-keeping legal here (check it out if you're interested: http://eatsacramento.wordpress.com/ ). It's looking good for the law to change in 2010.
I joined to hopefully learn A LOT before I get my first chickens. (Of course, I still have to talk the spouse into it...) I daydream of coop designs and attempt to sketch them on graph paper. I would be really into finding chicken-keepers in Sac who might let me hang around and get a little hands-on exposure/experience.
I'm also an avid gardener (though without as much time as I would like), trying to gradually fit something edible into every possible corner of my yard. I have a dog (black lab mix) and two cats (all three rescues), and a small city yard around our small little bungalow.
