Hi all! I'm new to owning chickens. I stumbled upon this wonderful forum while doing some research about raising chickens. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to have a few as pets and now I do! I'm glad there is a resource for chicken enthusiasts as wonderful as BYC! Here are some pictures of our little family, now 3 weeks old. The woman we bought them from said they were blue wheaten old english X black silkie, lemme know what you all think! They are the sweetest things... following me around, checking under pots I pick up for bugs, scratching away in the yard... precious!

Those are the sweetest little guys!
You will really like the silkie blood. They won't look like silkies but they will be a lot more gentle than some of the other types. My mutt roosters seldom get mean even when they are sparring for dominance. And they feed the chicks even after momma weans them (That is from my Silkie rooster for sure) They may look a little different if they have the silkie comb (I think they look a little like Kligons)
