Hi,
Curt and Denise from San Jose CA here. We are new to chickens. We got our little flock of three as chicks last May. We have a Buff Orphington (Elizabeth), a Barred Rock (Diana), and a Black Ostralorp (Kate). They all started laying about Oct -Nov and have been laying through their first winter. They have been hand raised so they are very friendly. We have been viewing this site for information since we got our girls and found it to be very helpful. Raising the chickens has been more enjoyable and less work than we had expected. The girls seem very happy and healthy, and their eggs are delicious.
We look forward to participating in the forums.
