Hey y'all!

I'm a new Chicken Mama. We started out with what we were told were comets, but, i don't think they are. That was on the 24th of May. Then we got mixture of chicks from a place NC, on May 31st. We got a mixture Americaunas, Swedish Flower Hens, Legbars, and Silkies. I am in love. We have some crude coops up, for right now, and now i want to make them all fancy. :) Who knew this was going to be so addictive!

Keeping these babies, for me, is great therapy. I see a lot of the ugly side of humanity in my job, which i really do love, so working with them Haas been very grounding for me.

I have very much enjoyed reading all of the advice in these forums. I've been working a lot, so never had a moment to post and introduce myself. I look forward to hounding y'all for more.

Much love and peace!

What darling chicks you have. Looks like they need to move to larger digs. You might want to put a wire cover over the brooder, they will be trying to fly out and won't be able to find their way back.

Welcome to our community and congrats on your flock - they look great!

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

All the best

I forgot to mention that we had already moved them. The pictures are from when we first got them. Thank you for the tip, though!
