Hello From SC.

I was actually for the chickens. But we had no where to keep them, no pen, no house. Hubby comes home and says, so what do I do with the chickens? ROFLMAO. Can you say garden tub with heat lamp. I do love watching them. Learning the personality's. Gave me enough time to build (yes, i am the builder in the family) them a short term chicken shanty. They have now moved up to an 8x10 shed with a very generous 20 x 40 pen. Now they only sleep there as they are far too busy free ranging in the big yard. They sure are fast learners though, they know the back door means special treats come out of it. Lord help us if we step outside in the morning onto the deck without something special for them.. It has been a blast!

Dawn,
As you I have been lurking. I wanted chickens and then didn't want a roo to fertilize and now I have a roo, 11 hens, and an incubator going. They are very smart birds. Mine know the sound of the sliding glass door and come running. My husband said I spend more time with the chickens than I do him so I think he is a little jealous

. Good luck with your little farm.
