Hello from SC!

So far, things are great with my birds and I'm happy. I have too many, though, and I'm worried a few will have to be culled. They're all roosters and no one wants roos =\ I'm trying to find people who want them!

Aside from that, I'm a horticulturist and I use my bird's waste to support my gardens and designs. I have a coop, but I'm looking to add onto it. It's mobile, and I'd like to start using creative runs and other things so my birds can explore. For now, though, they're in their tractor. They're 3 months, and I have 7 barred rock roosters, 3 chanteclers and 3 welsummer hens. They're lovely =)

The only thing that's happened to them is one of my welsummers fell wrong on her foot, and she lost a middle toe close to the nail. That doesn't seem to bother her, though, and her foot healed perfectly fine. They're so tough!

Glad you could join the flock! I'm afraid this is the downside of chickens that there is usually a glut of Roos that no one wants to take in. I'm a big believer in culling them as I then know myself that they have had a happy healthy and well fed life and the end was quick. I would much rather do that than them end up somewhere unscrupulous. There is the buy sell trade section of the forum you could try to rehome them in. Welcome to BYC. You may have better luck placing your roosters, if you post on your state thread (at "where am I, where are you," ) in the social forums. Then other chicken folks will be seeing that information and may need roosters of the various breeds. If you buy older birds - for instance POL (point of lay) pullets, you won't be stuck with a bunch of roosters. Good luck to you.
