Scappoose.....love it, great place name. I'd never get tired of saying that! Welcome.
Yeah, it's annoying and at first I was mad even seeing them camp out the speed trap but once you try to pull out onto hwy30 with everyone doing 70 still you begin to appreciate the need.Yes you would... The very first time you went to court for your "speed trap" ticket. The city planted a tree in front of the sign that would inform you the 55mph highway speed had just dropped to 35mph. The woman in front of me had pictures of it. The judge knew about it, and told her it was the state highway department's job to trim the tree. $375 fine and "Next!"
I agree with the need for the SIGN. I am an old lady who drives like an old lady. I was doing 55 where it said 55 and had already slowed down to 40 even without seeing the sign, because I noticed there were more buildings and I don't want to endanger people.Yeah, it's annoying and at first I was mad even seeing them camp out the speed trap but once you try to pull out onto hwy30 with everyone doing 70 still you begin to appreciate the need.
The sign is super visable now headed into Scappoose from Portland, I haven't really paid much direction going the other wayI agree with the need for the SIGN. There is never a need for a city to HIDE their speed limit signs. That is never okay.
It is just a particularly nasty way to pad the city's coffers.
We were coming back from a memorial held on the coast. It was night. The sign is super visable now headed into Scappoose from Portland, I haven't really paid much direction going the other way
