Hello from Scotland

Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I'm sure I'll enjoy being here. One of you was asking what kind of hens I have, well I've got 2 bluebells, 3 brown ones, and 7 others with strange hairdos. The cockerel isn't huge, he's cream colour with brown, red and gold streaks. Sorry I can't tell what breed they are! Apart from the bluebells I havent a clue! I think they're all mixed breed. Mainly other people's cast offs, apart from the purple pullet herself who I bought! The ducks are Indian runners. I'm a soft touch and this house is like a sanctuary!

You're welcome. The ones with strange hairdos are likely Polish, but could be another crested breed like Houdans, Crevecoeurs, etc. If you would like your unknown breeds identified, just post pics of them on our What Breed or Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this, and let our experts there take a look at them for you. Good luck with your flock.

My grand-dad was the 1st in his family born here in the U.S. His parents were from Ayrshire and are McDonald's. Some day I would love to go there and meet some of his relatives.

Hope you like it here, this is a great place for all kinds of poultry lovers.
