Welcome, you definitely came to the right place to learn. I never realized that chickens hated snow till we got coated this weekend, had to force the girls out and then they went and hid under everything they could find. Thirty inches means yours would be hiding for a long time.
 
I'm in the same boat...er...sled. Haven't quite finished the purchase of the acreage, but North of Roch and never had chickens before. Wanting to learn as much as I can before getting them. I even have the same day job as you (well, same company anyway ;-)

Get a snow blower lol

seriously cover your run or part of it and put up plastic or tarps to keep snow out.

ventalation is the key to keeping chickens in the coop comfortable and healthy. Make friends with the serch engine on the forum you will find lots of very good information.
