We moved to the 'country' and about 5 years ago got our first chickens. A friend had a flock she needed to rehome and we volunteered to take the lot, we still have 2 of the original hens. Now we have 2 roosters and 5 hens with 12 eggs in the incubator. One of the old ladies is an easter egger and the other a Barred Rock. Our original rooster was a bantam so the others we have are off spring from those 3.

They all have names and personalities. They will fuss at my husband if they want something. And they love the cat food and will bully the cats if they are out.

While the chickens are just hybrids, we are also Shiloh Shepherd breeders. And we focus on Diabetic Alert Dogs (DADs) in our program since Type 1 diabetes killed my father.

I have been receiving the newsletter for a couple of years and decided to join today because I wanted to see a picture of an internal pip something which I had not heard.
