Hello from SE Virginia

Great introduction, Cade! Congrats on your appreciation of chicken personalities, your acquisition of your own flock and on joining this wonderful community of truly helpful folks!

In Iowa, the morel mushroom is king, and folks who rarely leave the comfort of the supermarket spend hours tramping around, looking for the elusive fungus and keeping the location of their "hunting grounds" a secret. Just how avid are you? And what are your favorites?

I applaud your gardening efforts, your sunset viewing, your adoption of a rescue dog and the ability to parent two small ones, who are likely thrilled about the addition of your chicks.

Welcome to BYC; It's good to meet you!
It's finally morel season here, but I've had no luck finding them (partially because I'm splitting my nonexistent time between the chicks, my garden, and work). My favorite mushrooms to eat are definitely chantrelles and chicken of the wood. My favorite to photograph are anything amanita and Old Man of the Woods. From May to October, the kids and I will be outside foraging daily if possible.

Thank you for your welcome!

Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.
