Hello from Semta!

Hello there and welcome to BYC! I see that you are raising chickens. So if you get a chick that is baby it needs to stay in a brooder at least 37.5 degree's celcius. and every week you make it 5 degree's colder. And when its 6 weeks old, it can exit the brooder.

But you need to know the most IMPORTANT rule. NEVER mix big and small chickens together. The big chickens will kill the small ones.
Thank you! The person who gave us the chick gave us a heat lamp and thermometer and stuff so we could make sure the temperature is right thankfully.

But I didn't know about mixing big and small chickens. I'm glad you told me! I'll be sure to get appropriately sized chickens or wait until a chick is old enough. Thank you for the information! It's very helpful ☺️

Hi and welcome to BYC! :frow Tell your grandfather that you need to get a few playmates for your little chick. They are so much happier when they have a few friends. :)
Yeah! If I can't convince him, I'll have to do whatever will make the chick happiest, even if I have to give it back to the lady who gave it to us. But maybe I'll be able to convince him :)

:fl Good luck! I hope you can convince him. Chickens are so wonderful to have, and the eggs are amazing! :)
