My Black Stars are closer to 10 months than a year old as I previously mentioned. We brought them home when they were 8 months old and they have been laying eggs consistently with a at least 3 double yolkers a week. They are very big chickens, the largest girl is about 6 or 7 lbs. I'm definitely not a chicken expert, but I've been told not to expect regular egg production from my little girls until they're about 6 months old. I agree with you, the coloring on the Black Stars is amazing.

Hello Cheryl in Milpitas! You still raising chickens? If so, how many are allowed in the city. I was reading the ordinance and it says "no more than 20 birds". That right?
