Hi,

Just joined... thinking about starting a small laying flock in my.... you guessed it! Backyard. Already have a coop (5x12') and now I just need some knowledge and chickens... in that order!

I am trying to find places to buy pullets -- not in bulk. I will post some questions on the flock managment board.

Hi and a big welcome!

I'm in Texas now but I lived in Southern California for almost 40 years and I know Silverlake well! So howdy
former neighbor!

I just did a quick search and there's a thread here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=42641&p=1
about finding chicks in SoCal so I hope that'll have some good info even though you are looking for pullets. Also, on this forum, check
out the auctions sections- there are tons of tempting babies there. Also, you might want to check out your local Craig'sList.

And as for info- OMGosh- this is the place for it! I'm fairly new here myself and I have learned so much from the kind and patient
and informative folks here. It'll blow your mind how much there is to learn and how generous the people are here about sharing
their knowledge and experience! But do beware- BYC is wildly addicting and we are shameless enablers when it comes
to feeding that chicken addiction!!

I have some already hatched and some hatching today, blue and barred olive eggers, mottled javas and copper black/blue marans and ameraucanas. Translation, Tinted, blue, green, dark green, and dark brown eggs!
