Hello from Snowy Ohio

Hi Everyone-

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a chicken lover (actually a bird lover), and I live in Strasburg Ohio. I've got two coops, and my husband is planning on building me one very big coop this spring. I've got 7 chickens right now--2 Golden Buff hybrids, 1 BC Marans, 3 Ameraucana, and one RIR--they are all pullets, most newly laying. I've raised them all except one from day old chicks I purchased at the Meyer Hatchery in Polk Ohio.

I also have 18 Bobwhite Quail babies I just hatched a week ago in my new Hova Bator Genesis 1588 incubator that has an electronic thermostat, turbo fan and an auto egg turner. They were my first hatch.

We are trying to survive this winter, and doing pretty well. One of my little pullets did have a cold, but I managed to nurse her back to health. This is our first winter, and naturally we had to get two terrible snow storms--the poor girls can't come out and play because the snow is so high--it's taller than they are!

Well, I hope to make some chicken-friends!

Welcome fello Ohio! Im a little North of you in Grafton. Just starting out as well with 6 Barred rocks and 6 RIRs. Theyll be shareing a backyard with 2 goats and a hive full of Bees i hope! Heres hopeing for mutual bliss!
