Hi my name is brad from Sooke bc I just got some chickens about 3 months ago. I have 3 rir and just ordered 4 bared rocks. My run is 13 feet long and 5 feet wide. And I have a cedar dog house I made into a hen house that is 3 feet by 4 feet and 3.5 feet high. I look forward to learning.

Adult standard sized chickens need about 4 square feet of floor space in the coop per bird - your coop is big enough for 3 birds. Your run is very spacious, but they will still need more indoor space when they are older.

I was told 2 sq feet per bird or even low as 1 for a hen house since all they do is lay and sleep in there. I'm I wrong.
