Hi all. First if all let me say that of all the places on the internet to learn about chickens, this is by far the BEST!!!
I am new to raising chickens and so far I love it. I got my first group a little over a year ago. Right now I have a total of 7 chickens. I have 2 Red Star's (1 Roo and 1 hen) 1 Sulatn Bantam hen, 1 Red Buff Cochin Roo, and 3 hens that are some cross between an RIR and something else (got these 3 about 2 weeks ago). I am trying to get pics up so everyone here will help me figure out what they are.
I found out about BYC by accident. I was looking into how to raise chickens and, well, here I am.
Other than playing with my chickens, I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping and stuff like that. I also have a small stained glass business . It's funny to watch Captain Jack (my Red Roo) hop up onto the table and monitor my progress on a glass.
I am married with one son. I have a Min. Pin. who thinks he is a chicken hearder (or al least until Capt. Jack get tired of him)
I teach 7th grade science and love my "kids".
I am excited about my chickens and can't wait for more.
