Hello from South Dakota

New member here. We dont have chickens yet but I would really like a small flock of my own. We live in town, current animal regulations say that "livestock" is not allowed but an exception is made for birds. My neighbor also wants chickens and is friends with someone in city hall so she is asking if we can have chickens.

I am in the middle of trying to figure out what to do for a coop if we get the go ahead. My husband does carpentry work so I figure we will make it ourselves.
