Just wanted to say hello. I have been a lurker for awhile but decided it was time jump in. We are just starting over after we got wiped out last year by foxes. Right now we have Easter eggers, black cuckoo marine, Rhode island reds, production reds and some blue slate turkeys. We are looking for some coturnix quail and royal purple guinea keet. We also have six young children so it is always a full day here.

What changes to predator security have you made since the first flock got wiped out ? History repeats itself, and the fox know where they can get an easy meal.

We have been raising a LGD all winter and we are building a more secure chicken coop. Well I guess I should say coops as we plan on keeping the breeds separate. We are also put netting over the tops of the runs as we do have a lot of hawks nesting near us.

We got our Quail yesterday! So excited! The lady was nice enough to throw in 15 eggs that we are going to try and hatch out. Still looking for Royal Purple Keets though. May have to break down and order them from Cackel.
