I'm new to BYC and new to chickens completely!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Brand spankin' new. Actually, don't even have them yet.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None, but am looking to get 8 to 12 when we get them in the spring.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm looking into Buff Orpington, Black Sex Links, Gold Sex Links, and maybe an Americauna or two.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to scrapbook and rubber stamp but don't have much time. I like computer graphic design.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I live in southern Oregon with our 4 and 6 year old daughters, as well as our 2 cats, Sadie and Slinky. I do medical billing from home, and will be homeschooling the girls. We're moving soon to an acre out in the county, where we would be allowed a maximum of 20 chickens. I plan to garden more once we move, and will be learning to can the vegetables and fruits we produce. I can't wait!
