Hello! We want a breed (or breeds) that are very calm as the children will be helping with feeding and cleaning etc. That's the most important quality at the moment. We are in PA so cold-hardy is a necessity of course. Open to suggestions!

Other's would have to tell you what breed's do better up there in your area. I live out here in the desert in Arizona, so I can't help you much with that.

The coop itself is 4'6" wide x 8' long, height from 4' - 6.5' as it is raised. The run is 8'x8'. Does this seem adequate for 10 chickens?

The coop size is good as long as the nest boxes are elevated or bumped out but the run is very tiny. I'd try to double the size.
